Joe Pesci puts his 7,200-sq.-ft. Jersey Shore mansion on the market

Actor Joe Pesci has teamed up with Robert De Niro and Al Pacino to star in a new movie, The Irishman, directed by Martin Scorsese.

The film hits theatres and will also air on Netflix starting on Nov. 27, but it’s not likely Pesci will invite his costars to watch the premiere at his Jersey Shore mansion, because he has it up for sale.

The waterfront home is located in the West Point Island neighbourhood in Lavallette, N.J., overlooking Barnegat Bay and measures 7,200 sq. ft., with eight bedrooms and eight bathrooms in an open floorplan.

If he did invite the boys over, the home’s large rooms are perfect for big parties that could spill out to the spacious pool terrace at the water’s edge with boat dock beyond.

Built in 1990, the two-storey, gated property is completely fenced with a large motor court that can accommodate multiple guests, as well as a two-car garage for the owner.

At the main entrance, a free-standing curved staircase sets the stage for the living areas. With white rooms filled with light and the backdrop of the bay through floor-to-ceiling windows, the living room with its two seating areas and pianos hint at musical get-togethers.

A large eat-in kitchen with island was designed for preparing large meals served in the dining room, encircled by glass doors opening to the pool terrace and bay.

A media room is decorated with posters from Pesci’s films and because his first job was as a barber, a barber’s chair occupies one corner as a poignant reminder.

The upper level, which can also be reached by elevator, contains bedrooms and an office, all with upper terraces and spectacular views. A downstairs party room next to the pool and spa has its own kitchen for entertaining.

The Irishman marks Pesci’s return to filmmaking, after an unofficial retirement in 1999, so he could pursue his first love, making music. He recently cut his second album, Vincent LaGuardia Gambini Sings Just for You, named after his character in My Cousin Vinny.

Pesci has lived in the Jersey Shore home for 30 years, but he now plans to move to California, play some golf, and enjoy the year-round sunshine.

The home is listed at US$6.5 million and the listing agent is Michael Puccio of Re/Max Central, North Manalapan, N.J.
